Creamy Cacao and Banana Popsicles

Creamy and dreamy… there’s no better way to describe these popsicles than that. This is probably the most simple, and the easiest popsicle I ever made. With only 2 ingredients it still manages to taste like something from an ice cream store. I made this because I had some nice cream leftovers, and to my surprise, the next day it was amazing! I will definitely be experimenting with different kinds of popsicles over the summer, so stay tuned!

I recommend using spotty bananas, as ripe bananas are sweeter than when not. As mentioned, it is very simple. All you have to do is freeze bananas and cacao in popsicle moulds.

– INGREDIENTS –

makes 6 small popsicles

4 spotty bananas, frozen

2 tbsp cacao powder

dark chocolate, 85%

– DIRECTIONS –

The night before: cut the bananas into small pieces, and freeze them in an airtight container.

  1. Let the frozen bananas thaw for approximately 10 minutes. Place them in your food processor or blender, and blend until it has a creamy consistency. You will have to use a rubber spatula to scrape down the sides a few times.
  2. Either blend in the cacao, or stir it in with a spoon in a different bowl.
  3. Pour or scoop the ice cream into the moulds, and freeze for at least 3 hours, or until they are completely frozen.
  4. Sprinkle them with melted dark chocolate, and enjoy!
