A few weeks ago I posted the amazing Rawnola. Since I ran out, my nice creams and smoothie bowls haven’t been quite as fun as they were before. Therefore I decided to make some more, but this time and even healthier sprinkle. Since making it I have been using it on my nice cream, smoothie bowls and yoghurt.
Maybe you weren’t aware, but cranberries are actually on the list of superfoods. Hemp seeds are too. These two super ingredients boost the sprinkle with extra nutrients for your body.
Since our kitchen cupboard is always full with different kinds of packets, bags and jars, all opened, but never emptied. I decided I would try use some of it in a simple and quick recipe. This sprinkle is really versatile, and can be altered depending on what you have on hand. I used 3 tbsp of all of the ingredients, but the amounts can be changed depending on how much sprinkle you want to make.
I would have loved to have added some ground flax seeds, but unfortunately I was all out. However if you wish to add some you can grind it together with the almonds, and make a chunky almond / flax seed meal.
– INGREDIENTS –
3 tbsp almonds
3 tbsp sunflower seeds
3 tbsp pumpkin seeds
3 tbsp cranberries
3 tbsp coconut, desiccated
3 tbsp hemp seeds
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
– DIRECTIONS –
- Place almonds in food processor, and grind until only very small pieces are left. Remove almond meal from food processor, and set aside in a separate bowl.
- Place sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cranberries and shredded coconut in the same food processor. Grind until everything’s in really small pieces.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl and add almond meal, hemp seeds and ground cinnamon.
- Sprinkle on top of porridge, yoghurt, smoothies and nice cream or ice cream. Store in an airtight container or a glass jar in fridge. Enjoy!
