At first look, this smoothie looks very, VERY, green. It looks extremely healthy doesn’t it? That’s because it is! And it’s extremely good as well! I was a bit scared to taste it at first, but after one sip I was in love, it’s not at all bitter from the spinach, but it is sweet from the banana and has a twist of ginger. So this is the perfect greenie for those (like me) that want the healthy green stuff, but with the good taste.
This recipe makes for 1 person, but you can easily double or triple up. I put 4x as many ingredients in as the recipe, so I could make for 4 people :).
– INGREDIENTS –
1 handful spinach (I used frozen)
1 banana, frozen (or fresh if using frozen spinach)
1/2 cup / 1 dl water
1 cm / 0.5 inch ginger
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
– DIRECTIONS –
- Place spinach and banana in a blender. Add water. Blend.
- Add vanilla protein powder and blend again for a few minutes. Letting it blend for a minute or two will let the protein powder do its work, making the smoothie nice and creamy.
- Pour into your favourite cup or jar and enjoy!
